The Halsey Herald is a vibrant school newspaper, published fortnightly, which serves as a platform for student reporters and photographers to showcase their talent.
From coverage of sports tournaments to news updates, cultural event highlights, and insightful interviews, the Halsey Herald offers a range of content. Readers can also enjoy engaging in quizzes, heartwarming pet profiles, and mouth-watering recipes.
With a focus on student life and interests, the Halsey Herald is not just a source of information and entertainment, but also a reflection of our school's diverse community.

Learning Support Coordinator
Permanent, full-time | 2 Management Units | Start: Term 1, 2027
Halsey Drive School is seeking an experienced, collaborative and highly relational educator to join our team as our Learning Support Coordinator (LSC).
This is an exciting opportunity to take a key leadership role in strengthening inclusive practice and ensuring all learners are supported to be present, participate, progress and experience success.
Working closely with our Senior Leadership Team, teachers, learning assistants, whānau and external agencies, the successful applicant will coordinate learning support across our school while building the capability of others to effectively meet the diverse learning, wellbeing and behavioural needs of our students.
We are looking for someone who:

has a strong commitment to inclusive education and equitable outcomes for all learners;
-
has excellent knowledge of effective learning support and evidence-based inclusive classroom practice;
-
can build teacher and learning assistant capability through coaching, modelling and professional learning;
-
is confident using assessment, achievement, wellbeing, attendance and engagement data to inform decisions and interventions;
-
can effectively coordinate targeted interventions, transitions and support for students with additional learning needs;
-
builds strong, respectful and collaborative relationships with students, staff, parents and whānau;
-
can work effectively with the Ministry of Education, RTLB, health professionals and other specialist agencies;
-
demonstrates culturally responsive practice and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi;
-
is organised, proactive and able to navigate complex situations with sound professional judgement; and
-
is an excellent communicator and collaborative team member.
