Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
At Halsey Drive School, students in Years 4, 5, and 6 have the option to bring their own device to support their learning.
We believe that access to digital tools enhances student engagement, fosters ownership and choice in learning, and enables meaningful connections within and beyond the classroom. Our BYOD approach supports flexible, responsive learning tailored to each student’s needs and interests.
If you are considering purchasing a device for your child, we recommend exploring options through Cyclone Computers.
Concerns or Complaints
At Halsey Drive School, we value open communication and are committed to working in partnership with whānau to support our students. We encourage whānau to reach out as soon as possible so we can work together to find a positive way forward.
Concerns relating to student progress or behaviour should be discussed with the classroom teacher in the first instance. In order for Halsey Drive School to ensure open communication and fair treatment of concerns and complaints, we have a Concerns and Complaints Process.
If further support is needed, or if your concern is of a different nature, please contact the school office to arrange a meeting with a Deputy Principal or the Principal.

Stationery
For students starting after Term 1, we will organise the stationery here at the school office as we have smaller packs available.
For Term 4 starters in year 0, stationery packs are $50.00 payable by Eftpos in the school office when your child starts. For older students starting, we will advise parents of the costs.
For students starting at the start of a new school year, we will get parents to purchase the stationery packs from OfficeMax directly. More information on how to purchase this will be made available towards the end of this school year for 2026 stationery packs when we have the details from OfficeMax.
Swimming
At Halsey Drive School, we are fortunate to have an on-site swimming pool, which is used for instructional swimming during the warmer months (Terms 1 and 4).
As part of our Health and Physical Education curriculum, all students are expected to take part in swimming lessons unless a medical reason prevents them from doing so. If your child is unable to participate, please provide a written note.
To help minimise lost property, we ask that all clothing, towels, and swimming gear are clearly named.
